Saving notes on Google Drive

In order not to lose your notes when changing your smartphone, you can enable their saving on the service Google Drive.

Before you enable saving notes, carefully read through these instructions to the end! This will help you to avoid errors and loss of your data.

To enable saving notes, your device must have the Google Disk application installed and a valid Google account.

Purpose

It makes sense to enable syncing notes with Google Drive if you use MultiNotes for long-term storage of important information. If you create notes for a short time "so you don't forget", you may not want to use syncing.

Please note that your device must be connected to the Internet to sync notes. If you edit notes without an Internet connection, they will sync later as soon as your device is connected to the Internet.

You can use syncing to restore notes, or to transfer notes to another device. But it is not designed to work online simultaneously on several devices.

Operating procedure

1. Make sure that you have a valid Google account. You can do this in the "Settings" of your device in the "Users and accounts" section.

2. Press the off switch to move it to the on position. After a few seconds, you will see an account selection window and a request for permission to use the Multinotes app with Google Drive.
Additionally, you must give permission to disable battery optimization.

ATTENTION!!!
Carefully choose the account that syncing will be linked to! You can't change it later!
If you refuse to grant any of the permissions, syncing will not work, or it may not work correctly!

3. Now you need to do General syncing to upload your notes to Google Drive. To do this, click sync
Be sure to give permission to access files on your device! Without this, you will not be able to sync photos and other files linked to notes.
It's better not to touch your notes for a while until you get a message that syncing is complete.

After that you can continue using the app as before! When you add, edit, or delete a note, all changes will sync with Google Drive in the background. You won't even notice it!
The Google Drive icon gd in the upper-left corner of the note indicates that the note was synced at least once.

4. When you need to restore notes, for example, on a new device, you will need to follow steps 1-3 again. You must select the same account! Before restoring, delete the unnecessary notes and boards, otherwise they will be uploaded to Google Drive when syncing.

A few important details!

1. Syncing can be quite slow. This is not a disadvantage of Multinotes, it is a feature of the Android synchronization mechanism.
2. For faster and more reliable synchronization, on some new phones you may need to disable the optimization of the battery manually.
3. If you use syncing, try not to put large files in your notes. They can significantly slow down syncing.
4. ...and most important:
If you find problems with synchronization, it is NOT NECESSARY to write about it in the review of the application and to put a low rating! This will ruin the app's rating, greatly upset the developers, but will not help solve the problem! In this case, please send us an email to m.kadykov@gmail.com with a detailed description of the problem. This will help both you, us, and other users of the app!
